Book two of Demon Rock(available now as an e-book)

All those wild rock stars you hear about? Some of them really are demons, sustained by the energy pouring off the audience…

Wild, destructive and immortal, rocker Kent Gaol has given up the search for his Muse—a demon's one true source of inspiration, his forever partner. After losing the one woman he thought might be his, he's convinced she doesn't exist.

Hard-as-nails private investigator Nona Harris has been hired by a mysterious client to track Kent. She knows nothing of his truths, until one night when Kent tricks her on stage during one of his concerts. Amazingly, she not only senses the energy around the demons, she feeds from it…and it turns her on.

Kent never expected Nona's response to be so intense, nor that she could enter his world and so thoroughly rock it. This is beyond a tumultuous love affair—this is a sexual and emotional bond that will change them both forever. A bond strong enough that now Nona's shady client wants them both dead…

I received an e-book copy of this book from Netgalley for an honest review.

I LOVED this book, just like I did with the first book in the series (previously reviewed on this blog). It was just as sexy and fast paced and FUN. I mean, heavy metal and paranormal romance... HELL YEAH. Mr. Rosso's writing style remains as gritty and poetic as it was in the 1st Demon Rock book. And again, I thought it read like a kick ass metal video! Still a fan and I really enjoyed reading about Kent and Nora.

Welcome back readers for another Book Club Thursday(BCT).

I hope you all are enjoying a good book.

This week we decided to talk kids. How do you feel about kids(babies, toddlers, pre- teens, teens..you get the idea) in your romance novels?

I have to say that for me, it depends. I think kids of any age(babies through about high school) have no place in erotica novels (meaning as secondary characters etc). I also think that in some Urban Fantasy and Paranormals ( I said some) they don't always fit.

I think kids work best in contemporary romances. Don't get me wrong - I do think they have a place in romantic suspense(although that can get tiresome) and historical romances...it's just ..... yeah I know it sounds like I'm not a fan but really I am-as long as they are well written and integral to the plot. I've read kids in books before that were poorly written or written as if they were an afterthought.

I will say that I do enjoy books in a series where you meet the kid early on and then years and years later..... you get their story as an adult! FUN!

I'd love to hear what you have to say about this topic and if you have a favorite romance with kids.

Welcome back for another BCT!  This week we have chosen an e-book novella (still FREE ).

Book 1 of 6 of The Apple Trail Novella Series

She doesn’t want wild and raunchy, just a little spice…

He wants commitment and long-term, not a quick roll…

Two best friends who both want each other, but for very different reasons.

The walls are thin in the Apple Trail Apartments. Ever since she moved in after her divorce, Stephanie has listened to her best friend next door getting busy. By the bed knocking on the wall and the gasping women, Stephanie wants to be one of those women on the other side. She just has to get the courage up to ask.

The only woman Parker Madison ever wanted long-term was the very-married Stephanie. He’s tried finding a substitute, but there just isn’t another woman like her. Now that she's available, he just has to keep his hands to himself for a respectable length of time after her divorce. He’s planning to make a move after eight months. Stephanie takes him by surprise after three. Does he fulfill her request and risk becoming that best friend rebound guy or wait it out to better his chances for happily ever after?

Keri Ford was raised in South Arkansas on a farm surrounded by family, horses, cows, donkeys, ostriches, emus, chickens, ducks, Canada Geese, and enough dogs one would think they were a pound…and then she bought a Cosmopolitan when she was twenty-two. All it took was one excerpt of a sexy romantic suspense and her life would never be the same. Well, parts of it. She still lives on that farm.

Overall, I was happy with this as a free book. I thought it started out really rough in the writing(editing etc) but after a few chapters it much improved. I am really curious to see what Ms. Ford could do in a longer book because there is some good stuff here.

She's got a great sense of dialogue, characters and humor even if the plot was a bit boring/predictable (but hey then again aren't most romances at one point or another .... it's just a matter of how the author gets us from point A to B).

I plan on checking out another book by Ms.Ford before I completely make up mind.  For a free read, I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Are you as excited as we are for the next book in J.R. Ward's The Black Dagger Brotherhood?

Long live the King

After turning his back on the throne for centuries, Wrath, son of Wrath, finally assumed his father's mantle--with the help of his beloved mate. But the crown sets heavily on his head. As the war with the Lessening Society rages on, and the threat from the Band of Bastards truly hits home, he is forced to make choices that put everything--and everyone--at risk. Beth Randall thought she knew what she was getting into when she mated the last pure blooded vampire on the planet: An easy ride was not it. But when she decides she wants a child, she's unprepared for Wrath's response--or the distance it creates between them. The question is, will true love win out... or tortured legacy take over?

Well..... my best friends and fellow bloggers are so excited that we are having a contest! We are giving away one e-book copy! (See below)

Anyone that's been following this series knows how rich and multi-dimensional it is. Not to mention it's fan-freaking-tastic. I don't splurge much on hardcovers but, yeah, for Ms. Ward...she's worth every penny! I've made sure I can read my copy the second I get into my grubby little paws! LOL
Ok....it might have to take a backseat to work (need the money to BUY MORE BOOKS) but you get the point.

I'm not Irish. But with St. Patrick's Day around the corner we decided to pick that as a theme.

Not an easy task to think of someone other than Nora Roberts. So I am choosing her.

So here is my pick :

Product Details

For Adelia “Dee” Cunnane, her uncle’s invitation is a dream come true. He wants her to come to America to work with him at one of the most respected stables in the country. Starting as a groomer puts Dee in constant contact with the horses she loves—as well as Travis Grant, the stable’s proud owner. And as the lush Maryland horse country begins to work its charms on Dee, so does Travis, pulling her into a turbulent passion with unexpected consequences…

This book hold a special place in my heart for a few reasons. It's one of the first "adult" romances I read as a very very young lady and it was my first Nora.

I was lucky enough find an original copy of this book (nothing beats that first edition's cover- again probably due to nostalgia). In fact I'll have to dig it out now and read the whole series!

I'd love to hear what your first Nora was and any of your favorite Irish romances are.
