BOOK CLUB THURSDAYS- GIVEAWAY- FIRST TO BURN BY ANNA RICHLAND

Happy Thursday!

Thanks for stopping by this week for our GIVEAWAY!

When my BFF(and fellow blogger) Ann and I were at RT NOLA this year we heard all about this book and got very excited.

So....

Here's a GIVEAWAY.

We are also doing a REVIEW of First to Burn on the 31July14. We hope that the winner will check back an join us all as we discuss this book!

ABOUT THE BOOK:
A soldier with secrets.
Immortal Viking Wulf Wardsen once battled alongside Beowulf, and now serves in Afghanistan. He's trusted the mortal men on his elite special operations team to protect his secret, until an explosion lands Wulf in a place more dangerous to him than a battlefield: a medevac helicopter.
A doctor with questions.
Army captain Theresa Chiesa follows the rules and expects the same from others, even special forces hotshots like Sergeant Wardsen. She's determined to discover the secret behind his supernaturally fast healing, and she won't allow his sexy smile to distract her.
An enemy with nothing to lose.
Even as Theresa's investigation threatens to expose him, Wulf is stirred by her passion. Dreaming of love and a normal life, he wants nothing more than to build a future with her. But the lost Viking relic needed to reverse his immortality is being hunted by another—an ancient enemy who won't hesitate to hurt Theresa to strike back at Wulf.
Book one of the Immortal Vikings series.

  1. Thanks so much for featuring FIRST TO BURN, the start of my Immortal Vikings series with Carina Press! I'm so excited to be on here that it occurred to me - I have a final pdf version of the next novella, Cruz's story (he's one of Wulf's teammates). HIS ROAD HOME comes out October 13, but I could give the winner the pdf version, or I could give the nifty fancy epub format when I get it in September. I'd be thrilled to include the novella too! (By the way, there will be a Tasty Tour for HIS ROAD HOME in October). Can't wait for the chat (but I'll butt out so you all can be honest - although it's hard to hurt my feelings b/c I was in the army for 12 years AND I have two kids, so there's nothing anyone can say that I haven't heard.)

  2. OH - forgot to add - I have a giant foam core poster of the cover on the buffet next to where we eat every meal! Shirtless Cover Dude is so much a part of the family, that he sits there for all our meals.

  3. Sorry it took me a few days to reply! We are so EXCITED too! And feel free to chime in, especially if you have any questions for us readers! :)

  4. I don't know how much I'll be able to participate on July 31 b/c I'll be staggering around a Midwest amusement park, completely overcome by the humidity, but I'll definitely try. After 19 years in Seattle, returning to the heat and humidity of the Midwest is a killer for me. I live out in Seattle surrounded by water, but I've definitely forgotten how to swim through the air.

If there are thunderstorms on July 31 (another thing we don't get in Seattle!), we're taking the kids to a cave system near my mother's home, another place where I can't connect to comment! But you'll see reading First to Burn that I LOVE underground spaces - caves, basements and tunnels are definitely a theme in the entire Immortal Vikings series. The next Viking book, The Second Lie, actually features a Belgian cave modelled on one I made the family visit. I tried to identify settings in the Beowulf epic - like "the Great Hall" or "the underwater cave" and then find a way to make those settings modern (Theresa's mother's dining room, for example, or the dining facility at Camp Caddie) and use them.

See! I can comment! Ohhh, I have wayyy too much to say.
