ABOUT THE BOOK:

"Rebecca’s life sucked before she became an angel. Crappy apartment, awful jobs, abusive boyfriends–it was no wonder she jumped at the chance to escape it all and become a real live angel. The problem is Rebecca’s not very angelic, and she’ll have to do more to earn her wings than end her love affair with the word f–er, frick.

Especially when she’s assigned to save single father Tony Weis, whose less-than-pure thoughts wreak hell on a telepathic angel’s nerves. It’s all Rebecca can do to keep her hands off him…but when she loses her memory injuring herself to save Tony’s daughter, now it’s Tony’s turn to be her angel and care for her. But will Tony’s devotion tempt her from her angelic path, even if it means being human again"

MY REVIEW:

This book should have been a full length novel. It was decent but had the ability to be so much better. For me the book was kind of like that 2 hour made for TV movie that really should have been a mini-series. So some  of my issues are because I wanted more  - more back story. more character and relationship development. There are times in the book when Tony and Rebecca are together where I felt like I was missing part of what was going on between them. The book also seems like it could be the start of a series, however there really isn't too much that lead me to believe another book is certain to come.

Now I know that all  may seem like a dig, but it's not. The book was still charming and although I thought it had some awkward writing in the beginning it leveled out. And if another book was to come, I'd probably check it out.

LIGHT SPOILERS AHEAD

Also some of the other issues I had are again due to the short length.  I didn't think it was necessary for Tony to be injured at the end of the book not only because Rebecca was injured before him-I just didn't think him being injured was necessary for Rebecca to wake up and realize/finalize her true feelings. That revelation could have come several other ways especially since the book already allowed for it.

Now here is my biggest complaint- Rebecca is injured and suffers from amnesia. The doctors tell Tony to keep mum on pushing her to recovery her memories etc. Tony does the honorable thing(s) in several regards (not telling her, basically keeping his hands off her due to her angel status etc). When Rebecca finally recovers her memories,  her reaction to Tony PISSED me off. I could rant some more, but if you read the book (and I think it's worth a try for the price) I'd be happy to chat more....

Comments

  1. You are right. This would have been better if the story were longer and more fully developed. The flow was all wrong. There were a lot of missed opportunities. And yes, Rebecca did overreact.

  2. I didn't care for it but agree that it should have been longer.
