A BOOK WITH A SINGLE FATHER

ABOUT THE BOOK~

The Bad Boy Is Back

Evan Downey needs a new beginning. Since the death of his wife five years ago, the brilliant tattoo artist has shut himself away in a prison of grief that not even his work can break him out of-and what's worse, Evan knows his son Lyon is bearing the brunt of his seclusion. Moving back to the lake town of Evergreen Cove where he spent his childhood summers is his last chance for a fresh start.

Charlotte Harris knows she owes it to her best friend's memory to help Evan and his son find their way again, but she can't stop her traitorous heart from skipping a beat every time she looks into Evan's mesmerizing eyes. Charlotte is determined to stay strictly in the Friend Zone-until a mind-blowing night knocks that plan by the wayside. Now, if they're brave enough to let it, Charlotte and Evan might just find a love capable of healing their broken hearts . .

MY TWO CENTS~

I have to admit, this plot line is not one of my favorites. Evan and Rae fall in love, get married and have a child. Rae's BF Charlie is also in love with Evan but stepped aside for Rae. Rae dies. Years later Evan and Charlie reconnect and.... (you get the picture).

HOWEVER...

I really liked this book. Not to many authors can handle this type of plot line as well as Ms. Lemmon did. Lori Foster is another one that did,but I digress. There's a ton of depth to this book and it had just about everything I look for too; it made me laugh, cry and yeah swear a handful of times.

Evan comes back home with son Lyon. Evan is a great father and Lyon is an extremely written child. Sometimes I read books kids and it feels thrown in - but that wasn't the case here, their father son relationship feels real and authentic. Evan's also totally sexy and I love his protectiveness towards Charlie. Some people may wonder at Evan's prior behavior but I think it fits with how he was dealing with his pain.

Charlie totally annoyed at me at times(always apologizing and being way too insecure), however you can understand some of it. Her ex was a real asshole and really did a number on her. However I loved her relationship with Evan and their chemistry was believable.

I also want add that their are great secondary characters here, and after peeking at Ms. Lemmon's website I'm excited to see their book is coming(even if I have to wait til 2016)!

HAPPY READING~
