MY TWO CENTS~

I've been on a Jackie Collins kick lately. This book doesn't disappoint and is pretty typical of Ms. Collins' work.

Sex. Intrigue. Mindless fun.

Although the ending isn't completely wrapped up (as I find her work sometimes), it leaves the door wide open for a follow-up.

ABOUT THE BOOK~

In typical Romance style, Michaels's 1981 novel offers the story of protagonist Royall Banner, a recent widow who is wooed by Sebastian Rivera, a handsome buccaneer (what else?), when she leaves the puritanical yoke of New England for a Brazilian plantation. The twist is that Banner's business partner is Rivera's sworn enemy. Will that stand in the way of their burning passion?




MY TWO CENTS~

Although I haven't read this book since the the mid 80's, it still sticks out in my mind and remains one of my favorite historical romances. I also remember it because my mom and I shared our love of the book and the hero Sebastian. In fact we loved him so much, we named our dog after him at the time.

I wish I could find my copy because I'd love to re-read it.
