BCT~READING CHALLENGE

WELCOME BOOK LOVERS!

It's another Reading Challenge Thursday, and don't forget that means next week there will be a GIVEAWAY, (sponsored by me this go round). Additionally, since the last time it was my turn to do a Giveaway and not a soul entered, I will also give next week's winner a five dollar e-book gift card to go with the e-book I'm giving away.

I had a hard time picking which book I was going to feature with my chosen Reading Challenge, because recently I've a read a few that fit the bill: A Book That Makes You Cry.

Lisa Kleypas is back with a stunning new historical romance!
Readers have long waited for the return of New York Times bestselling author Lisa Kleypas to historical romance—and now she's back with her most breathtaking yet.
A twist of fate . . .
Devon Ravenel, London's most wickedly charming rake, has just inherited an earldom. But his powerful new rank in society comes with unwanted responsibilities . . . and more than a few surprises. His estate is saddled with debt, and the late earl's three innocent sisters are still occupying the house . . . along with Kathleen, Lady Trenear, a beautiful young widow whose sharp wit and determination are a match for Devon's own.
A clash of wills . . .
Kathleen knows better than to trust a ruthless scoundrel like Devon. But the fiery attraction between them is impossible to deny—and from the first moment Devon holds her in his arms, he vows to do whatever it takes to possess her. As Kathleen finds herself yielding to his skillfully erotic seduction, only one question remains:
Can she keep from surrendering her heart to the most dangerous man she's ever known?

MY TWO CENTS

Review contains hints but not true spoilers.

I can count on one hand the number of historical romances I have read by Ms. Kleypas. However, after reading this book I both hope and plan to quickly increase this number.

Cold-Hearted Rake is one of those books, at least for me, that had it all...and then some!

I laughed, cried and cheered and laughed and cried some more, all while sighing, completely in love with the romance in this book!

I want follow up books in this series for several people and I'm  happy the next book already includes two of these characters. Trust me, the next book can not arrive soon enough, especially with how Cold-Hearted Rake ends. The scenes between the secondary characters of Rhys and Helen are what really broke my heart (again- end of book- the next one can't come soon enough!)

Devon is a tough alpha male...at least he seems to be that way.  He is a true love struck fool when it comes to how he feels about Kathleen(at least we as readers know that before he can admit it!) Kathleen annoyed me a time or two, but I chalk some of that up to how she was raised.

Just like prior books by Ms. Kleypas, Cold-Hearted Rake is well written and hard to put down. The characters are developed well as was the plot and setting.

One of my favorite lines in the book has Kathleen comparing Devon to Hamlet. Ah, Hamlet...a few humorous/cute scenes with him play out as well.

Overall, this book is now on my list of favorites. I hope you read it and agree!
