BOOK CLUB THURSDAY-CATCHING UP ON-KRESLEY COLE

WELCOME BOOK LOVERS

Thanks for stopping by this week for our theme:

You can learn all about Book Club Thursday and it's Bloggers(who are also my best friends) by visiting the page via the tab at the top of my blog.

So- part of our themes on BCT, include trying to read books we already have, rather than keep buying. Oh, yes...that's me laughing. We'll continue to buy, I know, but at least for a few times a month we are reading what we already have.

Catching Up On, entails us each reading the same author, but reading something we are behind on by them...hence the Blog's title. I can't wait to see what my best friends read, because I know we are all behind in different ways/series.

This month our author is Kresley Cole:

From New York Times bestselling author Kresley Cole comes this scorching tale of a demon outcast poisoned with vampire blood and the vulnerable young witch he vows to protect, even from himself.
A DANGEROUS DEMON SHE CAN'T RESIST . . .

Malkom Slaine: tormented by his sordid past and racked by vampiric hungers, he's pushed to the brink by the green-eyed beauty under his guard.

A MADDENING WITCH HE ACHES TO CLAIM . . .

Carrow Graie: hiding her own sorrows, she lives only for the next party or prank. Until she meets a tortured warrior worth saving.

TRAPPED TOGETHER IN A SAVAGE PRISON . . .

In order for Malkom and Carrow to survive, he must unleash both the demon and vampire inside him. When Malkom becomes the nightmare his own people feared, will he lose the woman he craves body and soul?

What I both love and hate(okay maybe that's too strong a word) about the Immortals After Dark (IAD)Series by Ms. Cole is that it is so complex.

Seriously.

I mean, this is a series you CAN NOT just jump into. It is so intricate and woven together with many simultaneous time-lines...it makes one's head spin. But...I love it.

Demon From the Dark however, mostly takes place outside the typical IAD world. I enjoyed not having to keep everything straight. It's less complex(in the trying to recall everything) than the previous books. Plus I enjoyed that many of the characters from prior books make appearances. Plus Ms. Cole always leaves you hanging(ARGH!) but in such a good way.

I found Demon From the Dark to be totally fast paced and impossible to put down. To date, it's one of my favorites in the series and sadly I'm still six behind! But that's going to change fast- I hope to play catch up ASAP.

Demon From the Dark has some great humor in it. And I totally love the relationship between Ruby and Malkom. I won't tell you who Ruby is, you need to read and find out on your own.

Although a few times, I thought Carrow's behavior was annoying, it didn't make me dislike her. It fact, it did add a layer of authenticity to the story line. And Malkom's backstory is heartbreaking and I loved how he learned to, with both the help of Carrow and Ruby, rise above it.

If you haven't read this series, you should and if you are behind...well what are you waiting for?
