blog tour- review - the wife between us - greer hendricks - sarah pekkanen

"A jaw-dropping psychological thriller." ―Publisher's Weekly

"A fiendishly clever romantic thriller in the vein of Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train. This one will keep you guessing." –Anita Shreve, New York Times bestselling author of The Stars are Fire
When you read this book, you will make many assumptions.
You will assume you are reading about a jealous ex-wife.
You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement – a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love.
You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle.
Assume nothing.
Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.
Read between the lies.

To start - I apologize for being a day late with my review post as part of this blog tour.

To be honest, I think I expected more from this book. (but as you see by my rating I liked it. More than liked it).

Maybe that's an unfair statement (the expecting more) but based on all the hype surrounding it, I couldn't help but feel a pinch let down. And I read this right after another thriller and perhaps I might have compared and felt the two books were similar...both books have the "let's see how much we can deceive the reader" vibe going on.

That said...

The Wife Between Us was still a damn compelling and interesting read. Despite having two authors, the style and flow seem to come from one hand. Plus the first half of the novel is simply brilliant in the set up. Brilliant.

Overall, this is a twisty book, yet I can't help but feel some things were a bit too much out of left field at the end/last part of the book . One or the other should have happened. Again maybe I am unfairly comparing to another book but there it is.

The hard thing about reviewing this book is I can't say much without giving things away, but trust me when I say the book is worth the read. I'd also read another book by these ladies in a heartbeat.
