What should be a cozy and fun-filled weekend deep in the English countryside takes a sinister turn in Ruth Ware’s suspenseful, compulsive, and darkly twisted psychological thriller.

Sometimes the only thing to fear…is yourself.

When reclusive writer Leonora is invited to the English countryside for a weekend away, she reluctantly agrees to make the trip. But as the first night falls, revelations unfold among friends old and new, an unnerving memory shatters Leonora’s reserve, and a haunting realization creeps in: the party is not alone in the woods.

I love Ms Ware's books. Regarding this novel - the tone and style are utterly brilliant and suck you in right away. The setting adds to the creepy/unsettling plot. It's more of a slow burn than in your face. It works really well. I didn't find any real surprises or twists but this book still kept me turning the pages and my interest high. Despite being the author's debut novel, you would never know it - it's that well written and developed. The mystery wraps up but there is an open ended plot point (at least I like to think of that way). Ms Ware's upcoming 2018 release is HIGH on my list of must haves/wants.

I know this is short review but to say anything else ruins the novel. And the about the book gives a clear summary of what to expect...or does it?
