Welcome Readers
My name is Cyn and each week we (me and my BFF Ann from Romancing the Readers) blog all about books and book related topics on something we call Book Club Thursday(BCT). Learn more about me and BCT hereOur feature today is:
So, what is a sloppy second...well at least for reading books that is (HAHA)...
For us, a "sloppy second" is where we each are reading and reviewing a book that the other has previously read and reviewed on a past BCT.
I went way back to a Reading Challenge post from Ann (1/15/15) where she chose to read a book with non humans (can be paranormal or a book with dogs or cats or animals part of the plot line)
I picked this because it was a novella, I've never read a book by Ms Davis and Ann really loves her writing.
There’s only one thing on Becca Sinclair’s Christmas list this holiday
season – her very own column in the local paper. And if she can build a
huge blog following, her wish just might come true.
Enter Dan ‘Wolf’ Wolford, aka the man-whore next door, and the new star
of Becca’s popular, post-divorce blog about men. A Navy SEAL turned
commander of the Florida Marine Rescue Unit, Wolf’s the very definition
of the word alpha – and with an endless rotation of women on his
doorstep, this hunk on a Harley has Becca and her female followers all
hot and bothered!
All Becca wants for Christmas is her own newspaper column, right? But
when she finds herself the target of Wolf’s irresistible attentions, her
snarky comebacks become less and less convincing and, suddenly, she’s
not so sure anymore…

We both adored Becca's dog Einstein and enjoyed that this was a kick off novellla, introducing a bunch sexy firefighers.
What I liked about this holiday themed romance was that it was Wolf that crazy about Christmas rather than Becca.
I also enjoyed that both Wolf and Becca didn't have insta- love and both of them worked at overcoming their past to get what they deserved.
I fell in love with Wolf from the start, and admit that I thought Becca was more than a bit mean-spirited at times even if it was realistic.
I'll be checking out more novels by Ms Davis in the future and would love to hear your thoughts about this one, or your favorite book by her.
