Our feature today is:

Hard to think that the Holiday is season is fast approaching.

Today myself and Romancing the Readers will be talking about Holiday themed novels.

At one time, I would buy so many Holiday themed novels I couldn't keep up. In fact, I have a box full of unread ones that I pull out with my decorations each season, yet I never seem to read any of them!  LOL

I always like to read a few each season- usually starting with one on Thanksgiving and starting one on Christmas Eve- you wouldn't believe the timing involved!  LOL

Today, I am featuring one of my favorite Holiday books I've read in the past and another one that caught my eye and hope to scoop up in time to read.  And yes, the tone of each book couldn't be more different!  LOL

I'd love to hear about your favorite Holiday books!

Mrs. Miracle on 34th Street This Christmas, Emily Merkle (just call her Mrs. Miracle) is working in the toy department of Finley's, the last family-owned department store in New York City. And her boss is none other than Jake Finley, the owner's son. For Jake, holiday memories of brightly wrapped gifts, decorated trees and family gatherings were destroyed in a Christmas Eve tragedy years before. Now Christmas means only one thing to him--and to his father. Profit. Because they need a Christmas miracle to keep the business afloat. Holly Larson needs a miracle, too. She wants to give her eight-year-old nephew, Gabe, the holiday he deserves. Holly's widowed brother is in the army and won't be home for Christmas, but at least she can get Gabe that toy robot from Finley's, the one gift he desperately wants. If she can figure out how to pay for it... Fortunately, it's Mrs. Miracle to the rescue. Next to making children happy, she likes nothing better than helping others--and that includes doing a bit of matchmaking This Christmas will be different. For all of them. A story that's destined to become a Christmas classic from the Official Storyteller of Christmas.

Eighteen stories of Christmas horror from bestselling, acclaimed authors including Scott Smith, Seanan McGuire, Josh Malerman, Michael Koryta, Sarah Pinborough, and many more.

That there is darkness at the heart of the Yuletide season should not surprise. Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol is filled with scenes that are unsettling. Marley untying the bandage that holds his jaws together. The hideous children--Want and Ignorance--beneath the robe of the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come. The heavy ledgers Marley drags by his chains. In the finest versions of this story, the best parts are the terrifying parts.

Bestselling author and editor Christopher Golden shares his love for Christmas horror stories with this anthology of all-new short fiction from some of the most talented and original writers of horror today.
