saturday scoop

carpe librum

seize the book!  What a great thought.

Welcome book lovers

saturday scoop features a "scoop" on books- whether it's my review or other book related news you may have missed.

i can't believe i forgot to tell you all about this book!

i was lucky enough to have read an ARC, and for some reason i thought the book wasn't out until may!

fix that and buy it. now.

there is so much to love about this well written twisty thriller (although i confess to figuring most of it out!)

ms ward has a way with words- she totally had all of my senses involved with her brilliant descriptive writing and setting(s). plus i made quite a bit of noise reading this book- you know- shouting comments at things that happen and the characters-  LOL

also ms ward has created characters that i both loved and hated at the same time!

this novel was brilliant and even heart breaking and i just could not turn the pages fast enough. i am a HUGE fan and can't wait to see what ms ward comes up with next!

There are two sides to every story... And every person. Maddie and Ian's love story began with a chance encounter at a party overseas, while she was a travel writer visiting her best friend, Jo. Now almost two decades later, married with a beautiful son, Charlie, they are living the perfect suburban life in Middle America. But when a camping accident leaves Maddie badly scarred, she begins attending writing therapy, where she gradually reveals her fears about Ian; her concerns for the safety of their young son; and the couple's tangled and tumultuous past with Jo.From the Balkans to England, Iraq to Manhattan, and finally to an ordinary family home in Kansas, sixteen years of love and fear, adventure and suspicion culminate in The Day of the Killing, when a frantic 911 call summons the police to the scene of a shocking crime.
