Douglas Sherbrooke, Earl of Northcliffe, marries the wrong woman-only to find himself haunted by a bride of an entirely different kind.
Like many books written in modern day by an author (this one 1992), certain styles/themes and ideas were popular/acceptable- so i kept that in mind when reading this.
i found this book extremely witty and romantic despite Douglas being an ass more often than not.
Alex was a strong and more importantly smart heroine-and yes the perfect match for Douglas.
i will say that at least for me, on more than one instance, the secondary characters almost outshine Douglas and Alex.
also the "ghost" mystery is light and nicely done.
all in all, i liked this book so much, that i now need to seek out - at least the next two in this trilogy- more in this complete series.

I love this book and enjoy rereading it. Part of Douglas' charm is the fact that he's an ass. A loving one though.
