my musings:a review

My name is Cyn and I have a serious addiction to books.

Today I'm reviewing the book listed below. Actually I call my reviews "musings" because I typically keep them very brief and more impressions than anything. If I include spoilers (a rarity) I will warn you.

'NIGHT, NIGHT, SLEEP TIGHT AND DON’T LET THE BEDBUGS BITE’

In 1947, around the same time as the so-called Roswell alien landing, another UFO crashed to earth, falling deep within the soil of Lemonsville County. During the night five people were slaughtered, but nothing happened for the next seventy-three-years.In 2020, an earth tremor shook Lemonsville, leaving an opening for the new killers of the night to attack. Daniel Boone, the local police chief, must find a way to solve the mystery of why people are being slaughtered or have gone missing. It takes him on a journey to the past, where his grandfather was a witness to the original murders, but, as he tries to uncover what happened all those years ago more and more people are being killed. But will Daniel work out the link and save the people of Lemonsville, or will he too fall down and be destroyed by the things that want to take over the WORLD... The BEDBUGS are coming!!!

I was contacted by the author to review this novel. I was NOT provided a copy in exchange for my honest review. This was mainly due to formatting etc(seriously I need to either buy a new Kindle or convert to reading on my I-Pad but that's older too! LOL). However since I have Kindle Unlimited and the book sounded right up my alley I decided to read it.

I freely admit that it took a few chapters to adjust to Taylor's writing style. I immediately thought to myself I wonder if he writes screenplays. So as I read, I decided for myself to think of this as a screenplay or movie formula. Imagine to my surprise, once I got to the author page at the end of the book, that yes Taylor has written screenplays. And if you take a chance on this novel, just keep that in mind as you read and (hopefully)stick with it.

Taylor's got a mixture of both wit and a juvenile sense of humor at times throughout Bedbugs, but that's fine by me! Seriously-from characters names to pranks and the like...Bedbugs is over the top and definitely not for the squeamish!

The concept of the novel was fresh (I mean it's killer mutant bedbugs LOL)and made for a quirky read. Bedbugs doesn't take itself too seriously and neither should you.

If you are the type of reader that can look and read a book with a different eye (again seriously- read this as if it were a screenplay)then I think you'll love it. Plus I could totally see Bedbugs as one of those brilliant cheesy fun SYFY movies.

PS-That ending begs for a sequel!

PPS-I'd like to thank Taylor for reaching out to me and bringing this book to my attention.
