my musings:a review

My name is Cyn and I have a serious addiction to books. Thanks for stopping by. I'd love to hear from so drop me a line.

Today I'm reviewing the book listed below. Actually I call my reviews "musings" because I typically keep them very brief and more impressions than anything. If I include spoilers (a rarity) I will warn you.

Whatcha crying for, sissy? Why don’t you grow a pair?’ Rosie says to her mother...‘Send me to school and I’ll rip off your arm! Beat you with the stump.’ Abandoned by her terrorized mother at the age of six, Rosie Shadow will do anything to win the affection of her father Archie, an undead cannibal in charge of Her Majesty's Prison Shortbury, now operating as a visitor attraction. Clare is sent reeling into Archie’s arms with the grief of losing her boyfriend in a mysterious car accident when he collides with an ancient yew tree. The secrets in the Medieval dungeon beneath the prison are under threat when Clare becomes suspicious of Archie’s true identity and his progeny. Rosie Shadow is the first book in The Black Tongue Series.

Overall I enjoyed this fresh and unique entry into the horror genre. I mean I LOVE me a good Zombie story and it's been years since I've found one.

My biggest complaint if you can call it that was I felt this book could have been shorter. But it's really not that big a deal since the book was very easy to read.

There's multiple storylines and just like the characters, I found them to be well developed and written. Worthington also has a knack for writing dialogue.

Oh - and let's just say how much I loved Rosie (hee hee hee)

So if you are looking for an imaginative Zombie story with a satisfying conclusion, you should give this novel a try.

I was provided an ebook of Rosie Shadow from LiterallyPR in exchange for my honest review as part of my participation in this Blog Tour. This book is available now in various formats.
