read a book you've had for over a year

read a book you've had for over five years

read a book you keep meaning to read

the full list and much more can be found right HERE

actually this book fits SO MANY of the challenges but i went with the one i highlighted

It’s not easy being a female warrior with a nickname like Annwyl the Bloody. Men tend to either cower in fear, or else salute. It’s true she has a knack for decapitating legions of her ruthless brother’s soldiers without pausing for breath. But just once it would be nice to be able to really talk to a man…the way she can talk to Fearghus the Destroyer.

Too bad Fearghus is a dragon. With him, Annwyl feels safe—a far cry from the feelings aroused by the hard-bodied, arrogant knight Fearghus has arranged to help train her for battle. With her days spent fighting a man who fills her with fierce, heady desire, and her nights spent in the company of a magical creature who could smite a village just by exhaling, Annwyl is sure life couldn’t get any stranger.

i have the book with the original cover that also includes the short story Chains & Flames, but i'm only going to talk about Dragon Actually

shame shame shame shame (you get the idea) on me for waiting FOREVER to finally read this book

in fact, i dug up ALL of the books in this series i own and BOUGHT all but one of the ones i was missing

i laughed so much reading this book

and Annwyl and Fearghus are probably two of my favorite main characters ever

there's a modern flair/tone to Ms Aiken's style that many historical romances miss, which made this book even more fun to read

i plan to read the others very soon - i'd love to hear your thoughts about this book OR if you have a favorite by her in this series
