each week myself and my BFF ann from over at Romancing the Readers or RTR)blog about book related themes on book club thursday(BCT)
reading challenge

simple- we read/review any book as long as fits one of the "challenges" from one of our lists and i picked from this list (challenge is highlighted)

theme:clearing off the book shelves:

read an author whose books you are +2 behind on

read any new to you author

read any series you are +2 behind on

start a new series

read a book you've had for six months or less

read a book you've had for over a year

read a book you've had for over five years

read a book you keep meaning to read

the full list and much more can be found right HERE

so-i'm kind of cheating again - i have had this series of books for what seems like FOREVER(2014 actually) having bought them after reading and loving another book by this author

and honestly like almost every book i own (okay maybe not every...LOL) i keep meaning to read the first book in the series (cuz yeah, many of the books that i have are part of a series that i own that sits completely unread-just like last month when i finally decided to start another series) still with me?  LOL

so here it is:

Her name is Pete Caldecott. She was just sixteen when she met Jack Winter, a gorgeous, larger-than-life mage who thrilled her with his witchcraft. Then a spirit Jack summoned killed him before Pete's eyes—or so she thought. Now a detective, Pete is investigating the case of a young girl kidnapped from the streets of London. A tipster's chilling prediction has led police directly to the child…but when Pete meets the informant, she's shocked to learn he is none other than Jack. Strung out on heroin, Jack a shadow of his former self. But he's able to tell Pete exactly where Bridget's kidnappers are hiding: in the supernatural shadow-world of the fey. Even though she's spent years disavowing the supernatural, Pete follows Jack into the invisible fey underworld, where she hopes to discover the truth about what happened to Bridget—and what happened to Jack on that dark day so long ago…

so yeah...

note to self...quit waiting so long to read books that i collect for one reason or another! LOL

i LOVED this freaking book-

it was fresh a take on the genre not to mention moody&edgy plus i'm kind of in love with Jack.i also love the setting and world building that's going on here. not to mention the punk rock vibe/references

hint- i just finished up the next book in the series and OMFG!

as always- i'd love to know what you are reading or any thoughts you have about my choices!
